THE STORY:

Amber Berg, LAc, Phd began had a passion for designing at an early age. I was a dancer, loved art and acting, always directing choreographing dances, events, and shows. My love for nature took over, I fought development companies for ocean contamination. For years I struggled with what i thought was opposing forces, a desire to create in the material world and a deep dharma to serve earth leaving it healthier. I lived off grid as minimally as possibly for most of my life. I became a Doctor of Oriental medicine where my love for nature flourished.

In 2015 I came across a small plant dye facility, learning of the most beautiful colors plants make, more stunning than any chemical dye Ive ever seen, I could not contribute to chemicals dying our waters. I connected with a 90year old woman learning how sustainable silk farming is a beautiful dying art. I found natural fabrics to be extremely comfortable and the healthiest clothing we can wear, wearing plastic is not a good idea. I was introduced a beautiful seamstress with an organic farm at her house where she sews; she is happy, healthy and holy. All pieces at my feet, divinely sharing with me ‘its time, we are for you to promote not exploit earth’, in that exact moment without hesitations I created “classy silk” in 3 days, passion + dharma = purpose.

Today i work with several women’s tribes in Indonesia and Mexico. I bring comfortable breathable new ideas and designs to ancient weaving techniques, these will be launching in 2022. Stay tuned!

PS~ i took off sailing around the world with an Italian, French and Spanish man and a Danish woman, during the long nights on watch starring at the stars, I would dream up designs, everyone called me AUMBRA, I loved it, it stuck, the line that was created at sea under the stars.
